Volunteering

The heart of the PTA is still very much its volunteers! Indeed, without the help of the parent body, the PTA does not exist. Your time and effort is crucial to the success of all activities geared to improve the academic and social lives of our children.

Your help means more than you realize! If you have only half an hour at one event, that is fantastic, no amount of time is too small. Your children will probably think you are fantastic too, when they see you and give you a shy little wave or a running jump and bear hug! Children love to see their family members helping out in school and connecting with them at that level.

Email us on pta@gs.esf.edu.hk or simply fill in the Volunteer Form and put it in the PTA tray in the main office on the first floor to indicate what you would like to do.

Please have a look at these opportunities that have occurred in the past years and let us know if you would like to be involved.

Popcorn days: Parents from different year groups run the popcorn stall on a selected popcorn day and our prefects run the stall in the third term. Ask your class parent when your class is going to run the next popcorn stall!

Market Night: Most importantly, make sure you come out and enjoy food and drinks while you peruse vendor stalls and catch up with other families at the school. You could also help with Market Night set-up on the day or help on the PTA stalls selling samples, books or DVDs.

Bingo Night: We always need prize buyers. If you want to be further involved, you can help with our set-up, at our refreshment table or with clean-up.

Disco Night: Many helping hands are needed with getting food and drink to the dancers!

Spring Food and Fun Fair: There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with cooking international dishes, serving at one of the international food stalls, helping sell at the PTA uniform or DVD/CD stalls or helping out on one of the many class game stalls.
