Glenealy School aims to provide students with a fun and enjoyable learning experience as well as improving their skill, technique, speed and stamina. Our emphasis is on player development and we are proud of having helped to develop a number of talented players over the years. Our teams take part in several inter-school tournaments for a range of ages as well as friendly matches against other schools. These are traditionally well attended by our wonderfully supportive parents and staff. Trials are held at various stages throughout each year and children’s progress is regularly monitored. Selection is based upon attitude, ability and attendance. Sessions are held at the following times:         

Term 1

A Squad Training: Tuesdays 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Glenealy. Training begins on Tuesday 30th August. 

A and B Squad Training: Wednesdays 3:00–5:00 p.m. at Glenealy before moving to Hong Kong Football Club, Happy Valley. Training begins on Wednesday 31st August.

Once we move to H.K.F.C. later in September the children will be bussed to and from school and return at approximately the same time. On both days the children should be collected from the playground at 5 p.m. All children from both squads are given the opportunity to play friendly matches against other schools at training on Wednesdays. Some children are chosen to represent the school in tournaments (please see below), with numbers selected varying according to the number of teams the school is allowed to enter. All players must have flat or astro football shoes, shinpads, plenty of water and snacks. 

Tuesday dates: Aug 30th, Sep 6th, 20th, 27th. Oct 4th, 11th, 25th, Nov 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, Dec 6th. 13th

Wednesday dates: Aug 31st, Sep 7th, 14th, 28th, Oct 26th, Nov 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, Dec 7th 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO FOOTBALL ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:

Oct 5th, 12th, 18th and 19th

Tuesdays 3:00–5:00 p.m. at Glenealy School.Year 4/5 Practice.

Friday 17th September - G.S.I.S. Under 11 Tournament from 3:30-5:30 p.m. 

Thursday 29th September - Year 5 Friendly at Glenealy vs. Hong Lok Yuen from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Saturday 8th October - E.S.F. Ed. Services Tournament at KGV from 8:30-1:00 p.m. Two teams entered.

Thursday 13th October - Year 5/6 Friendly at Glenealy vs. Hong Lok Yuen from 3:00-5:00 p.m. 

Friday 11th November - G.S.I.S. Under 9 Tournament 3:00 - 5:50 p.m.

Tuesday 22nd November - A Squad Friendly at Glenealy vs. Peak School from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Saturday 26th November - D.B.I.S. Tournament at K.G.V. from 8:30-1:00 p.m. 

Saturday 10th December - E.S.F. Tournament at K.G.V. from 8:30-1:00 p.m

Saturday 14th January 2012 - Hong Lok Yuen Tournament from 8:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Glenealy entered two teams into the G.S.I.S. tournament. Both teams really enjoyed the tournament and produced some good performances. Team 1 won three, drew one and lost one of their games to finish second in their league. Team 2 won three and then drew their final match to come top of their league!Many thanks to all the parents who came along to support.
