                YEAR 2 WEEKLY PLAN TERM 2 WEEK 8

We will be starting our new  'Unit of Inquiry' on the 1st March.

CENTRAL IDEA:

There are a variety of energy sources which cause objects to move in different ways.

 

LINES OF INQUIRY:

·       Sources of energy (electricity, magnetism, gravity, wind, etc.)

·       The forces that make objects move (causation and function)

·       The internal structure of objects (connection - how they work together)

·       The scientific procedure (question, plan, test, reflect)

INQUIRY FOCUS

  • Discuss (unpack) central idea
  • Look at the different toys and brainstorm how they move, why they move
  • Continue adding to the list of scientific vocabulary
  • Introduce 'wonderwall'
  • Sort toys into groups and discuss grouping
  • Researching Sources of energy (electricity, magnetism, gravity, wind, etc.)
