Central Idea: By finding out about the past we learn about who we are and where we are from.
This week in Year 1 we will be retelling stories in our writing journal.
Reading:The Water Fight and What a bad dog!
Writing sentences using our phoneme knowledge.
Reading a variety of stories.
Introduce Guided Reading books and questions.
Please encourage your child to answer questions about the book and remember to give a positive comment in the pink communication diary!
O'clock and half past.
What can they do in a minute?
Make a clock and learn how to answer what is ...one hour after and one hour before?
Mental maths calculations related to addition and subtraction.
Use number grids to add and subtract.
Role Play in the airport.
Gallery walk of the memory boxes, reflecting on each others work.
Ask questions about the past to some family members.
How do you communicate with your family?
Look at communication through the ages.
Questionnaire about their box with a member of the family.
Just a reminder that children can wear their PE clothes all day at school on PE days (Wednesdays and Thursdays) they do not have to bring their school uniform in to change into.
